Description

This tech note describes using the checkout utility.

Solution Steps:

  1. Open command prompt as an Administrator.
  2. Type the path where the Checkout Utility is available. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ArchestrA\Licensing Framework\License API2.)

    3. Type AELicCheckout.exe with the following

  • The path where the utility is available
  • The operation you want to perform
  • The part number

     4.  For example, if the utility is available in the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Common        Files\ArchestrA\Licensing Framework\License API2, and you want to check out the part number INTR60K17, then type the following: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ArchestrA\Licensing Framework\License API2 AELicCheckout.exe checkout -pn “INTR60K17”

     5. Press Enter.

  • The checked-out licenses are displayed on the Reservations grid of the License Manager, with details such as Serial Number, Product Name, Component Name, Version, and Count.

Note: The licenses get checked out through the primary server. Therefore, if you are using a redundant pair, the primary server is required to be available during the checkout operation.
